AGQ Labs USA participates in the International Accreditation Service’s Food Safety Task Group
This month, AGQ Labs USA Laboratory Director Jesse Calvillo served as a contributor to International Accreditation Service’s Food Safety Task Group in Brea, California. The Task Group serves as external input for technical advisory and is comprised of both industry professionals and internal experts from a range of backgrounds and geographies (among them United States, Germany, Greece, and India).
The food safety task group discussed the implications for accrediting bodies (AB’s) and certifying bodies (CB’s) under new Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) legislation, especially as it pertains to the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP).
The impacts to laboratories of proposed revisions to ISO 17025 (ISO 17025:2016) were also discussed as these changes are likely to be officially recognized by the International Standards Organization later in 2017.
