Glyphosate Testing
AGQ Labs glyphosate testing determines the presence of glyphosate in raw or manufactured food products.
Our laboratories have a team of technical experts in the agri-food sector to ensure the quality and safety of your products.
Glyphosate is a herbicide that kills weeds and shrubs. It is absorbed by the leaves and not the roots. It can be applied to the leaves, injected into trunks and stems, or sprayed.

What is glyphosate?
Glyphosate is the most widely used pesticide worldwide and is the subject of much debate as to whether it poses a problem for human and environmental health.
It is a broad-spectrum, non-selective herbicide developed for eliminating weeds and shrubs, such as annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, and woody species.
Thousands of crop protection products are commercially available and frequently used worldwide. Of these, glyphosate is probably not the most harmful but is the most controversial.
Why is glyphosate testing important?
This herbicide eliminates “weeds,” especially broadleaf weeds, shrubs, and woody species. These weeds compete with the crop for water and soil nutrients, so their use has become widespread in intensive agriculture.
In 2015, the World Health Organization classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans” based on evidence that it is a carcinogenic component to animals. Using glyphosate also severely impacts the environment, such as soil, water, crops, and food.
For these reasons, testing for glyphosate is vital; at AGQ Labs, we can help ensure the quality and safety of the products you market.
AGQ Labs offers our customers the analysis of glyphosate, glufosinate, and AMPA Accreditation: UNE-EN-ISO/IEC 17025 for laboratory analysis.

Glyphosate testing in Organic Food
The organic food and agriculture sector has been growing steadily in recent years, both in Spain and worldwide. These products are increasingly demanded by consumers who are concerned about the quality of the products.
The European Union establishes rigorous and well-defined regulations to ensure that organic products really come from agriculture free of pesticides and synthetic or transgenic fertilizers. Among the analyses that must be carried out are analyses for glyphosate.
